Captivated by Purpose
Anyone else rewash the same load in the washing machine 3 times in the last 3 days?
Please tell me it’s not just me! Adding the holiday bustle to the already big family hustle can get a little crazy around here!
Sometimes I feel like I can’t keep up. I love this quote by Bob Goff:
We won’t be distracted by comparison if we are captivated by purpose.
It reminds me that as long as I keep my focus on my purpose, the important things will get priority.
Everything seems loud this time of year, so I feel like we have to work extra hard to focus on why we have Christmas to begin with.
Focus 1: Without Jesus there would be no Christmas.
Focus 2: As wives and moms, we set the temperature of the home, so I’m aiming to get my mind right each day with my gratitude list, prayer and positive mindset!
Focus 3: Health. Kids with 6 am practices and late night basketball games, extra sugary snacks and activities at school make for getting worn down and my younger ones get grumpy – so I’m loading up on extra fruits and veggies and healthier snacks
I’m also staying focused on my end of year goals! Some might think it’s silly to squeeze exercise in during this time of year – but I’ve found the opposite to be true. If I’m putting in the effort to exercise, it motivates me to not throw in the towel to all discipline!
Why pack on the pounds now and make things harder on myself until I decided I’m “ready” in January.
